Pot of Flowers
Adirondack frames with oak-leaf corners were readily available from many sources. Adam J. Press Co., a Chicago manufacturer in the 1880s, sold a 9-by-11-inch size for $2.20 per dozen wholesale (Stanley B. Burns, Forgotten Marriage: The Painted Tintype & the Decorative Frame, 1860-1910 a Lost Chapter in American Portraiture, 1995, p. 197). These inexpensive rustic frames were a perfect way to "complete" a tinsel picture.
