Odd Fellows N.G. of a Lodge. G.P. of an Encampment
This print, by well-known lithographer Nathaniel Currier, shows two Odd Fellows officers: the Noble Grand (or head) of a lodge and the Chief Patriarch (or head) of an Encampment. Each man wears the appropriate apron and collar for his office over his street clothes. The Chief Patriarch holds a crook in one hand, a central symbol of the Encampment degrees. Colorful prints like these were popular decorations for the lodge or a member’s home.
