Presentation Quilt for William A. Sargent
The blocks of this quilt were sewn as a gift for William A. Sargent, elder of the Freewill Baptist Church in Loudon, New Hampshire, when he became pastor of the second Gilmanton, New Hampshire, church in 1856. The pieces were assembled and quilted by his daughter, Clara Sargent Hickok, much later, in the 1930s.
