Right hand nailed to podium, figure nailed to platform with single nail from bottom of platform through eack foot. Figure wearing jacket, tie and trousers with sharp creases, details of clothing sharply incised. Face has strong profile with prominent chin; hair parted on side, eyes shaded gray. Podium constructed of three pieces: book, rest and pedestal, glued and nailed. The whole resting on platform with beveled edges.
