Multi-figural composition featuring two animals, one which appears to be an elephant and the other that has similar features to a donkey (even though the former title calls the latter a cow) made from flattened, cut, and painted sheet of metal. The meta used to construct the figures is likely galvanized steel (steel coated with zinc). Seated between two humps on the back on the elephant is a humanoid figure with a bulbous head and an outstretched arm. Seated on the head of the elephant is a highly abstracted animal, likely a bird or a monkey based on previously seen forms by David Butler. The elephant, humanoid, and smaller animal are similarly painted with red, green, and yellow paint. Elephant held up by a wooden stake and on either side of the stake are similarly painted arrows. One arrow points towards the donkey and the other one does not. The elephant is mid-stride with their mouth open and trunk facing upwards. The elephant's eyes are bottle caps affixed to its head with a metal wire. The two animals are joined together by a metal wire. The donkey is similarly held up by a wooden stake and painted used the same color palette. The donkey's is mid-stride with its head facing downwards. Its eyes are made from cut metal. affixed to the head with wire. The donkey's ears are bent sheets of metal that aim in separate directions. Both wooden stakes are situated on a larger wooden board with nails. The donkley's stake is loose. The wooden board is maybe added later.</schema:description><schema:artForm>Sculpture</schema:artForm><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/7980/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></schema:itemListElement><schema:itemListElement><schema:VisualArtwork><schema:image>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/internal/media/dispatcher/25888/full</schema:image><schema:name>Untitled</schema:name><schema:dateCreated>1965–1986</schema:dateCreated><schema:creator>David Butler</schema:creator><schema:artMedium>Paint on metal and plastic</schema:artMedium><schema:description>Donor provided: Enamel and matte paint on metal, with plastic and metallic string

Flattened, cut, and painted sheet of metal depicting a humanoid figure holding a bow and arrow. The metal is likely galvanized steel (steel coated with zinc). The figure is a stereotypical representation of a native or indigenous North American wearing a feathered headdress and leg coverings. The figure's eyes are fashioned out of a blue plastic buttons and adhered to the figure using a plastic covered metal wire, popularly known as a twist tie. It is uncertain what type of paint was applied to the metal, but the glossy quality of both the red and orange paint suggest the use of enamel. The artist used a matte finish paint for the blue, black, and white areas.</schema:description><schema:artForm>Sculpture</schema:artForm><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/8379/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></schema:itemListElement><schema:itemListElement><schema:VisualArtwork><schema:image>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/internal/media/dispatcher/25889/full</schema:image><schema:name>Untitled</schema:name><schema:dateCreated>1965–1986</schema:dateCreated><schema:creator>David Butler</schema:creator><schema:artMedium>Paint on metal</schema:artMedium><schema:description>provided by donor: Enamel and matte paint on metal

Flattened, cut, and painted sheet of metal depicting an abstracted animal mid-stride. The metal is likely galvanized steel (steel coated with zinc). The type of animal is unidentifiable based on its physical features, which includes two ears or antlers, an elongated mouth or muzzle, and a long tail. The animal's eyes are fashioned out of circular cut sheet metal with two holes. A metal wire is inserted in these holes to adhere the eyes to the animal's head. The artist used a matte finish paint for the entire work.</schema:description><schema:artForm>Sculpture</schema:artForm><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/8380/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></schema:itemListElement><schema:itemListElement><schema:VisualArtwork><schema:image>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/internal/media/dispatcher/27505/full</schema:image><schema:name>Untitled</schema:name><schema:dateCreated>1965–1986</schema:dateCreated><schema:creator>David Butler</schema:creator><schema:artMedium>Paint on metal and wood</schema:artMedium><schema:description>provided by donor: Enamel and matte paint on metal, with metal string

Flattened, cut, and painted sheet of metal depicting an abstracted animal climbing a pole affixed to a wooden pedestal. The metal used for the animal is likely galvanized steel (steel coated with zinc). The type of animal is unidentifiable based on its physical features. A comparable example (see object file) describes a similar form as a monkey. The animal's features include a long tail with a punctured hole at the end, two appendages, and a protruding mouth. The top half of its body, its appendages, and tail are striped with yellow, red, green, and blue matte paint. The bottom half of the body is decorated with green dots on a red-blue background. The animal's eyes are fashioned out of a circular cut sheet metal with two holes. These metal disks were likely machine cut. A metal wire and nail are inserted in these holes to adhere the eyes to the animal's head. The pole is made of two nails fused one on top of the other. The top nail has remnants of green paint. The pole is affixed to a block of wood. </schema:description><schema:artForm>Sculpture</schema:artForm><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/8381/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></schema:itemListElement><schema:itemListElement><schema:VisualArtwork><schema:image>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/internal/media/dispatcher/26190/full</schema:image><schema:name>Untitled</schema:name><schema:dateCreated>1965–1986</schema:dateCreated><schema:creator>David Butler</schema:creator><schema:artMedium>Paint on metal</schema:artMedium><schema:description>provided by donor: Enamel and matte paint on metal, with bottle cap</schema:description><schema:artForm>Sculpture</schema:artForm><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/8382/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></schema:itemListElement></schema:ItemList></rdf:RDF>
