Cornett dreamed in 1968 that a flood was going to submerge all of eastern kentucky under water. To save himself he built a large ark with room for passengers and a sculpture of Christ on the cross affixed to the bow. The flood did not occur he moved out of the ark and back into his house. Shortly after, there was a local flood and the creek behind his house overflowed carrying the ark away.
