Legs, driftwood tail and ears separately applied with sawdust and gesso composition, creating rough areas at joins. Front legs end in six carved toes, back legs have seven carved toes. Log-like body widens at haunches with carved "shelf" indicating top of leg. Head is of flattened tear-drop shape with carved eyes painted white with black centers and outlined in black. Broad striped nose is in shallow relieef ending in blunt base with two nostrils, incised mouth below. Collar is painted with green and cream triangles separated by red outline.
