Borkowski are currently part of AFAM\u2019s MULTITUDES exhibition. Aside this more well-known practice of her art making, she also produced quilts. We currently have two of them in the Museum collection, displaying fairly traditional patterns. One of the two quilts currently proposed, also originally collected by Jaqueline L. Fowler, is quite unusual, and allows one to draw parallels with her narrative thread paintings. This quilt was made in honor of the nation\u2019s bicentennial. It includes the pledge of allegiance and thread portraits of all the presidents to date at that time, including a vignette signaling Nixon\u2019s impeachment and the transfer of power to Ford. The workmanship is remarkable, and the condition is pristine. The smaller companion piece is possibly a crib quilt.
