This particular quilt was based on a children's poem by Eugene Filed, \"The Duel,\" written in 1911.  It was a very popular theme in the 1920s and 1930s, and toy patterns and quilt patterns were published and syndicated.  This appears to be an original interpretation.","TEXTILES","Pictorial appliqued and embroidered crib quilts became popular in the first quarter of the twentieth century.
