THe entire piece is made of two woods of contrasting colors, a dark one cut to imitate bricks, and a lighter wood that imitates cement joints between the bricks. A large inlaid cut-out of a reclining Father Time occupies the front of the lower cabinet door. The middle door shows a standing warrior goddess with helmet, sword, and a shield displaying an hour glass. The door of the top cabinet has a mirror framed in fret wotk. The left and right side panels of the clock case show identical figures: at the top, a trumpeting man; a dancing woman in the middle panels; and a running (or flying) child, in thre lower panels. The scrolll work around the clock is inlaid into a dark background so that it appears to be open-work. The figures and scroll work are all cut from slabs of the same wood used to imitate cement between the bricks.</schema:description><schema:artForm>com.gallerysystems.emuseum.core.entities.Classification@414</schema:artForm><schema:copyrightHolder>The American Folk Art Museum believes this work to be in the public domain. </schema:copyrightHolder><schema:url>https://collection.folkartmuseum.org/objects/2383/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></rdf:RDF>
