The model was carved by E.W. Hastings, a Boston figurehead carver. The mold was still in use when the company became L.W. Cushing and Sons and was included in their 1883 catalogue. The known examples, though identical to MAFA's in body, are of a cherubic face, while MAFA's appears older. In the 1940s reproductions were manufactured from the original molds and sold as authentic. Later, Edith Gregor Halpert bought the molds and produced reproductions in limited quanitites.","Object information is a work in progress and may be updated with new research.
