The quilt was probably made to commemorate the Reverend\u2019s role in the establishment of a new Methodist congregation in Elizabeth. It is believed that the block that contains the image of a church (center top) may be the only existing visual reference to the original 1852 building of the Fulton Street congregation, as it was rebuilt in 1859.Stacy C.
