Horsehair tail. Head is parallel to floor. Mouth is open with tongue and teeth showing. Ears are upright in alert position. Nostrils are flared. Dark brown mane is swept forward as if the wind is hitting the hose from the back. Metal stirrups on leather straps hang from the sides of the horse below the saddle, where the riders feet would go if they were seated in the saddle of the horse. The carved saddle is brown and undecorated. It does not appear to be attached to th horse by any strap. The saddle had three layers of carved decoration under it. First, a multicolored jewel border around the saddle. Next, a brown carved saddle blanket with a diamond pattern incised in it, with a red border. Last, a blue carved blanket with a gold fringe. The carved and jeweled trappings around the chest and back of the horse are in red, brown, and blue bands. A plain bridle is on the head of the horse.
